The Mrs de Lannoy almshouse was built in 1874 and consists of eight one-bedroom self-contained flats. Over the years this stone-constructed building has been modified, and a few years back underwent a major facelift, adding cladding which improved its appearance and gave greater insulation. Each flat consists of a lounge/diner, a bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen and shower room and toilet. Gone are the days when residents shared a kitchen and had to walk to the bottom of the garden to use a communal toilet. Today the gardens are a lovely place of quiet enjoyment for the residents.

Swift House was officially in opened in March 2018 by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Mr Peter Field. This modern almshouse has four one-bedroom flats and sits behind what was previously The Plough and Horses public house in Walshes Road, now turned into self-contained flats known as Newton Place. The almshouse flats are built to modern standards, with underfloor heating, sizeable living accommodation consisting of a lounge/diner, kitchen, a single bedroom and a shower room and toilet. There are gardens on two sides of the property where residents can relax and, additionally if they wish, tend the garden. There are adequate parking facilities at the property.

Haven Homes almshouses are single-storey with four conjoined properties in Beeches Road and a further three of similar design in East Beeches. They were built for the benefit of elderly people of poorer means living in Crowborough and five other local parishes: Withyham, Maresfield, Buxted, Rotherfield and Hartfield. Although not spacious, they consist of a lounge/diner, a single bedroom, a small well-equipped kitchen and a shower room and toilet. Both properties have attractive, pleasant, and well-maintained gardens.
