150th Anniversary
In 2024 the Mrs de Lannoy & Haven Homes Almshouse Charity will be celebrating its 150th year of helping elderly local people and those from further afield who have often fallen on hard times find shelter with a safe and secure place to live independently. Being safely housed is a deeply gratifying experience, whether in 1874 in the cruel Victorian times of workhouses and debtors prisons, or in today’s competitive society and accommodation difficulties.
So there is much to celebrate, and on 14th June 2024 there will be a thanksgiving service at All Saints Church, Chapel Green, Church Road, Crowborough TN6 1ED. This will be followed by a reception and afternoon tea when the residents, trustees and officers, and many people closely associated with the Crowborough Almshouses, will come together to enjoy this important anniversary.
