Public Notice – Change of status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and change of name

26 November 2025

We wish to inform all interested parties and members of the public of an important administrative change that will take effect from 1st January 2026.
Mrs De Lannoy & Haven Homes Almshouses has been incorporated as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and given a new name, Crowborough Almshouses Charity. The objects and purposes of the Charity remain the same. All property will be held by the CIO on the same charitable trusts. We are pleased to report the Charity Commission has approved and consented to the incorporation and provided us with an Order to proceed.
We are pleased to confirm that this change will not affect any existing licence arrangements with our current licensees. All licence fees will remain at their current levels, and payment methods will continue unchanged. This administrative transition has been designed to ensure the continued effective management and operation of the Charity’s activities whilst maintaining stability for all our licensees.
The change is purely administrative in nature and will not impact the day-to-day operations of our almshouse properties or the services we provide. Our commitment to providing quality accommodation and maintaining the charitable objectives of the trust remains unchanged.
We believe that this change of governance will enhance our ability to serve our community effectively and ensure the long-term sustainability of our charitable mission.

Yours faithfully,

Rupert Cole
Clerk to the Charity
